How a charter works
A charter is simple once you have seen one. You choose the yacht and the week, we handle the contract, the crew and the plan, and you arrive in Cannes with nothing left to arrange.
From the first call to the last night
Six to twelve months before
The first call
Tell us who is coming, when, and what kind of week you have in mind. We come back the same day with two or three yachts and the full price of each.
Once you have chosen
The contract
We prepare a MYBA charter agreement, the standard contract of the industry, and you pay 50 % of the charter fee on signing.
One month before
Balance and APA
The remaining 50 % and the APA are due. Your captain sends a plan for the week, and the chef asks about every guest’s tastes.
On board
The week itself
The plan follows the weather and your mood. The APA is accounted for as you go, with every receipt kept.
The last morning
Settling up
Any APA that was not spent is returned to you. A gratuity for the crew is customary and entirely your decision.
What a week costs
Every quote we send shows these lines, with the figures for your yacht and your cruising ground.

Questions before the first charter
Can we bring children?
Yes. Most of our yachts have twin cabins, and the crew arranges life jackets in every size and a slower plan for young swimmers.
What if the weather turns?
Your captain moves the route to sheltered water. How a day in port is handled is set out in the MYBA agreement, and we explain it before you sign.
Will we feel seasick?
Large yachts with stabilisers move very little at anchor. We plan the passages for the morning, when the sea is usually calmest.
Can we choose the menu?
The chef sends a preference sheet before the charter and cooks around it, from the morning market in each harbour.
Where do we board?
Most of our yachts board in Cannes. Boarding elsewhere is possible and may add a delivery fee, shown on your quote.
How far ahead should we book?
July and August fill first, often six to twelve months ahead. June and September are quieter and often better value.
